1954 – Donnie Dykhuizen and Johnny McGreevy
This blog is dedicated to William Jesse McGreevy of McGreevy Photo, Lafayette IN USA.
These iconic photos are primarily family images in and around Lafayette and the Midwest from the 1940's to the 1970's.
Jesse McGreevy not only owned and operated McGreevy Photo, but also worked for the Journal & Courier, St. Elizabeth Hospital and Purdue University.
His work covered many subjects and places. Much of his original negatives are located at The Historical Society in Lafayette IN and of course, Purdue and St. Elizabeth have many negatives that were taken for them.
My name is Christy Marks and W. Jesse McGreevy was my Grandfather on my Mother's side. My maiden name is Carlson and my Mother's maiden name is McGreevy. This blog is dedicated to my Grandfather's work.
I spent much of my first years in my Grandparent's house and ended up following in my Grandfather's footsteps by opening my own photography business. As have my cousins: Michelle of McGreevy-Squier Photography, San Antonio TX, and Mereana of McGreevy Photo in Spokane WA.
It has become of mission of mine to keep these memories alive and make sure his work isn't forgotten. I was honored to do the blog interview below earlier this year.
